Tutor Year 2008-2009

I hope all of you have settled into the new school year nicely! It's pleasant to see some of you around at EVHS.

A new tutoring year has begun, and for those of you veteran tutors who are eager to get started as soon as possible, here is your opportunity!
1) We need two tutors for Matsumoto's intervention program starting (next Monday) October 13th-15th, so if you can fill the spot and commit to it every week, please contact me. If you can fill any one day for the program every week, that is fine, too; we can have tutors switch off to match your bustling schedules.

2) Also, for those of you who are 14 or older, CYTC will now also offer an internship program. Those of you who are eligible and interested will receive a minimum wage pay while teaching students or completing organizational tasks for the various learning centers. Please contact me if you are interested and your new commitment will be arranged as soon as possible.

3) If you know of any new tutors who are interested in joining, please encourage them to do so. I have posted a new application form on the website, www.ChaboyaYTC.BlogSpot.com . So far, there are slots on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. I will keep everyone updated if we have further slot availability.

4) To contact me, make sure you send emails to chaboyaytc@GMAIL.com, not GOOGLEGROUPS.

Remember that CYTC is an ongoing project, so if you would like to join any time, feel free to let me know and it will be arranged.

New Tutoring Year 2007-2008!

Dear All,

This is CYTC's 3rd year of establishment, and I am sure that teachers and students who have been helped by our tutors are very grateful for our help. Thank you all for your contribution and hard work!

This year, I am happy to say that we are welcoming in new tutors to our club. As some of you may know, tomorrow, we will be having an introductory meeting to allow tutors to get to know the Matsumoto campus and what will take place during a usual tutoring session. It will be at room 32 of Matsumoto, from approximately 2:20-2:40pm, on Nov. 7, Wednesday.

If you are a former tutor, and would like to continue helping others, you are welcome to join us in the meeting. If you are a new tutor, please attend this meeting so you can know what to expect when we officially start tutoring next week.

Thank you for your time, and I hope to see you all tomorrow!

Best wishes,
Melody Cao

Chaboya Youth Tutoring Club

Are you patient?
Do you have good sportsmanship and citizenship?
Are you willing to spend at least one hour per week to help out elementary school students who may require special attention in academics?
Are you in the 7th grade, or higher?
Did you get a GPA of 3.8 or higher on your last report card, or received A's on the single subject you would like to tutor for?
If you can readily answer "yes" to all of these questions, then you are welcome to join us at CYTC!

At CYTC, you spend at least one hour a week to help students that may need extra help in math, social studies, science, or English. When you volunteer to help other students, you gain a feeling of accomplishment and a boost of self-confidence. Experience with people, also known as socializing, is essential for your future contact with teachers and colleagues. Also, the hours accumulated at CYTC counts toward your service learning project. And, finally, while you teach others, you also learn something from them.

Tentative Tutoring Schedule

Hello,

Currently, CYTC will run at Matsmoto on Mondays (2:15-3:45PM), Wednesdays (2:15-3:45PM), and Fridays (2:15-3:15).
If we do not experience any technical difficulties, tutoring will begin on the 23rd of October and continue every week after that.

There will most likely be a meeting before tutoring officially begins, and we are currently arranging for that. Information will be posted as soon as possible.

Thank you for your interest.
